I think about this a lot as well. recently wrote about it.

It's sad that something so enjoyable grows less and less in value every day.

But it's also more and more exciting to see the growing extent to which we can command these systems!

I think this is a great piece. However, I would challenge the exact comparison between LLMs in software development and digital tools in media production. Rather than the false dichotomy of cutting film vs making movies, a lot of people would want to make movies well, which includes craft, rather than just pure mechanics. Perhaps writing code by hand here is meant to include some craft of designing interfaces and maintainable structures, but as you describe, it moves the important skills up an abstraction level.
